SHANGHAI, Jun. 23 (SMM) – Deals for secondary lead turned a little better last week, SMM learned.
This was because downstream producers largely increased purchase due to eased bearish sentiment, resulting from the limited drop in secondary lead prices and tightness in supply.
Lead smelters refused to sell goods at low owing to slight profits. Those smelters in Guangdong reported a delay in executing orders till next week while smelters in Guangxi all suspended production on environmental protection inspection except Dongxing Zhicheng Non-ferrous Metals Recycling Co.
Secondary lead mainly traded between 12,600-12,750 yuan per tonne (tax included). Mainstream prices were 11,650-11,750 yuan per tonne (tax excluded) in Jiangsu, Shandong, Anhui, Henan and Hebei.
